Out in London about four months ago GW Pharmaceuticals Pic’s (GWP.L) has been pioneering a marijuana drug called Sativex, which is getting mixed reception from healthcare authorities.  A survey of primary care trust (PCTs), or local funding bodies, released by broker Nomura Code found several not recommending the drug as a treatment and is categorizing it as low priority.  That’s probably because it’s a created drug and not the real thing.  Marijuana in its natural form can conquer way more than anything created to represent it.

Justin Gover, GW managing director, said, “all new machines faced challenges of market access in Britain in the current economic environment and any suggestion Sativex was suffering unique difficulties was misplaced.”

Sativex is sprayed under the tongue and is sold as a prescription drug at a cost of 11 pounds.  Its approval came last June, which was a major boost for GW since they cultivate marijuana plants at a secret location in the English countryside and has spent 11 years developing it.  The real question is why can’t they just legalize the real drug called marijuana?  why do they have to create something?  They’ve been farming marijuana plants for 11 years so why not just give the real drug to patients?

The drug according to Gover was designed to help MS patients specifically.  I’m sorry but I don’t want another drug that is created for prescription use by scientists somewhere.  How about we legalize marijuana and this way everyone knows what he or she are getting.
