In the Portland suburb of Gladstone a fire chief has resigned following his arrest on charges of a DUI and possession of marijuana. John Figini, 55, submitted his resignation to the Gladstone City Council last week due to the charges.
According to court records an Oregon State Police trooper, on I-205 near Tualatin, stopped him for reckless driving. When the trooper approached the car he realized that Figini was driving under the influence and after further investigation cited the man for reckless driving, DUI, both which are misdemeanors. He was also cited for possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.
Figini has contested the charges, which are set for administrative review. He has also have had no comments about the entire situation when asked. I hope he gets off for the marijuana charge because that shouldn’t even be an issue. The DUI on the other hand should be taken care of since people should be more aware than that if they are high.
